Emma Gardner Designs are really fantastic, we mean like... move over Angela Adams [and we don't say that lightly] there is a new girl in town. We recently saw an ad in Dwell magazine for her Curio rug pictured here, so we went browsing to her site to see what else she's got goin' on. Her style is modern but has a newer twist than A.A, Her prices are in line with other high end rug makers [out of our reach at the moment but nice to dream], and she also has pillows and throws in her line.
Her pillow prices were a bit steep [$195] for our wallet, but her throws were decently priced in at $189 [ for 70% alpaca and 30% wool that price isn't too shabby]. More importantly, they do good while they work: [from their site] Emma Gardner Design is certified by both Care & Fair and RUGMARK, our partner never employs children, is recognized for their progressive employment practices and has won numerous awards for excellence from the Nepalese government. As a member of the RUGMARK Foundation, a global non-profit working to end child labor, we are able to guarantee that no child labor is used at our Indian or Nepalese mills. A portion of the cost of each rug imported by our company for sale in the United States is donated to RUGMARK to support their efforts to educate former child laborers.
