We really like these bulletin boards: sure, we think they'd look funky hanging on our wall, and they're made from cork (a highly renewable and biodegradable resource). But there's another, better reason:
These cork bulletin boards from Barcelona-based studio Pöko Design are created in the shapes of animals currently affected by global warming — the polar bear, migrating songbirds and the tree frog — in an effort to raise awareness to that fact that increasing global temperatures now threaten the habitats of over 17,000 species.
Also, for each bulletin board sold, 2% of the proceeds are donated to Tree-Nation to fight desertification, climate change, poverty, and CO2 emissions by planting more trees in the world.
Available at Kikkerland for $20.
