An architect friend of mine commented on the amount of time that one spends in the sleeping area compared to the living area and that conversation helped me decide how I would prioritize the use of the room. When purchasing my dining table it needed to be a work table first and a dining table second - not the other way around, which would be more conventional. A lot of my other pieces also have a double purpose. In a small space everything has to have a home and one thing out of place can make the it all look messy.
