Shaw's Original Fir...
Exciting! Is there also a prize for the International category?
Minna,
Thanks for asking! Prize info has been added to the post above and all the info on the contest can be found right here.
“GentlemEn, start your engines...”
Ah screw it, I'll do it. Yay!!! So excited.
Graphist, perhaps they are only expecting a single entry. From a man with multiple vehicles?
LittleMiss, me too! Good luck!
Can anybody place the bed in that photo?
Good luck to you too alahoop! May the procrastination end.
yea, info on that great room under the headline, please.
Are there rules posted somewhere? I would like to see a rule prohibiting using a vote-trading site to inflate the scores. Some participants in the Small-Cool-Outdoors contest on Re-Nest did that, and it caused quite a kerfluffle. And it is hardly in the spirit of the contest.
did you all see this in nyt?

well timed!
Also looking for more info on that room!
that poor baby, too much color. :)
Ummmmm, why choose a photo of a screaming and seemingly very uncomfortable baby as the promo shot for this contest? I fail to see any connection, and that poor little tyke looks seriously distressed. :(
I have to agree with awesome sauce, that photo of the baby is very distracting and to be honest, I barely noticed the rest of the room because of it.
I agree with some of the others.. why is the image used of a screaming baby? It is very distracting. I do not get the point of why anyone would use an image of a obviously upset baby for a contest about wall colors.
Does anyone have information on the bedding in the photo? :)
I'm going to get my 'room' together over the next couple of days and enter for the first time... excited!
The comforter is from The Company Store. My friend & I saw it in their outlet store about a year ago, so I'm not sure if it's still for sale or not.
I'm pretty sure the bed is from Ikea, isn't it?
Must have switched it because the baby is gone (alas, I would have liked to see what all the fuss was about) and now just a Swedish alphabet in its place.
where could I find the rest of the tour of the room in this picture? i'm curious about that green sofa, I have one just like it and I can't figure out how to "spruce" it up.
The info for the picture above with the green sofa can be found here: http://www.designsponge.com/2010/08/before-after-tims-condo-makeover.html
Better yet, follow this link to the designer's blog about the room transformation. http://designmaze-tim.blogspot.com/2010/08/my-dabut-at-design-sponge.html
sweeeet! thanks!
So how long does it take for a submission to be approved? I've been waiting for approval (somewhat impatiently) for several days now...and I really think my living room is worthy! :)
The photo for this post, the orange kitchen, is it an entry? are there more photos? I would love to see more and looked around at but couldn't find it.
Holy crap! I just painted my kitchen bright yellow-orange! I used a color called "Pencil." I never realized pencils were so BRIGHT!
Juiss22 -- The orange kitchen is from last year -- a fabulous Montreal entry (though not mine, alas).
I loved this entry so so so much that I didn't mind losing to it at all. :D I still feel like I need to find a place for that wall colour in my own home...
