Shelving brackets are almost never good. The ones we're used to are generally found in garages and utility rooms. However, sometimes we come across a system that catches our notice, like the Epomeo Shelf from Doug Mockett & Company.

This shelf was made in direct response to the lack of good shelving systems out there. It is made from a single piece of extruded aluminum and its mounting system is completely concealed. Available in five lengths from about 39" to 118".

Take note, though: this definitely isn't meant for book storage. The maximum capacity is 50 pounds.
