Some of us craft sporadically, making the occasional travel scrapbook or hand-beaded necklace. Others of us, like Erica Domesek, craft obsessively. Domesek, a fashion stylist and the author behind the popular blog (and book) P.S. I Made This!, writes how-to’s on everything from shoes to iPad clutches to striped vases. Her house tour at CasaSugar is just as clever and fashionable as expected, but we were really amazed by her impressive, well-organized craft closet.
Made by The Original Scrapbox, the closet contains thousand of supplies neatly organized and labeled. From colorful spools of ribbons to cans of Sharpies, everything has a place—inspiring even for those of us who just need to organize our desks.

Now that's some fantastic storage.
Whoa. I'm without words.
I WISH i were that organized! All of my art supplies and craft stuff is randomly tossed in boxes in the closet.
I am coveting this.
Whoa... sums it all up!
Even though this is super neat and tidy and the doors can be closed it would still drive me crazy to have all this stuff in my house. I would have to get rid of all of it.
OMG, makes me feel really really ashamed of my table full of crafting crap
I was already a bit embarrassed, but after this, I want to hide my head under the sand. I just gotta make sure my man doesnt find out about this, because he's gonna start bugging me (again) to do something similar (though I really should)
Can you say obsessive? Plus no one needs that many crafting supplies unless well they are making things to sell and that is their main job.
Love those Scrapboxes! Bonus- it's a family company.
I love them too, but the $1500 price tag always stops me.
Seems like a Pax wardrobe with a couple of these affixed to the inside of the door would do the trick for less than $500.
Of course, you don't get the cool look.
I like tidiness and valiantly strive to be more tidy, but my brain would not go for this amount of organization, especially in a place like an art or crafts studio. From comparing notes with my artist friends, there are two camps: the hyper-organized (paints in tidy rows, sequentially by the color spectrum), and the moderately disheveled (paints go into a pile.) Obviously, a total mess (where are my paints?) is detrimental, but a little mess fosters my creativity.
HOLY MOTHER!!
I've always loved those organizer closets, but I really wonder if they'd work for people who use anything but the most basic and expected crafting supplies. I also like having all my stuff out to look at when I'm not in a crafting mood, a-la Tim Holtz.
wow chrisgal, can you say kinda rude and negative? if you read the text you would know that crafting isnt just something she does when she's bored. it actually is part of her career. The woman wrote a book about diy'ing and also has a very popular blog on the same subject which probably brings in some income as well. so she clearly does need that many crafting supplies. and when you live in new york or any other area where space is at a premium its almost a luxury to be disorganized.
OMG this woman is my hero! She can organize anything clearly!
I need one!
I need one too!
Well done... but I still think crafts are evil.
This looks like its based on Bulthaup B2 system, but loads cheaper no doubt. It's gorgeous, and I can see this being perfect for other storage if crafts are not your thing: http://www.bulthaup.com/bulthaup/internet/en/home.nsf/contentview/4EE1ABDA308BCD2BC12574E200291320
I love having things organized in containers and such, but when I'm actually using them, I really hate being interrupted by moving things, pulling lids off of things, tidying up after I use things. Probably why even if I had something like this, everything would still be a mess :D
Cans of Sharpies? *true love*
"Crafts are evil"???? Them's fightin' words!
I concede that some amateur crafts are kind of lame and useless from the end-product standpoint. (I defend anybody's right to entertain themselves that way, just please don't gift me with the results!!)
But as someone who does what I think of as "semi-professional" crafts (meaning I often sell what I make, but I don't work at it) I'd like to point out that crafting satisfies the soul and can convert ordinary things to extraordinary ones. (Not to mention, I make a lot of my own jewelry, and save a bundle doing it!)
Anyhow, if you have small space, you NEED to have well organized supplies so you can quickly find what you need for a project without disrupting all the other stuff that might be in the way. And I, for one, can't have all my project material out on show all the time, it would be overwhelming and chaotic. I make enough mess with what I need for any given project, before I put it all away again.
This storage unit is astonishing, but I try not to pay more for the containers than for what's in them, so my solution is IKEA furnishings and second-hand plastic containers.
