Names: Erik (6) and Quinn (4)
Location: Pisac Ruins, Peru
Favorite Family-Friendly Place To See or Thing To Do Here: Imagining what life was like in Incan times while visiting Pisac, Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu. Checking out the amazing bird life on Paracas on the Pacific coast. Playing soccer and heading to the playground with the local kids in Chivay and seeing a condor in the Colca Canyon - the second deepest canyon in the world. Peru is awesome!

Best Tip for Traveling with Kids: Read up on the destination in advance. We picked up a cartoon book about Machu Picchu before we left and my oldest son spent our time there nose to his book comparing what he saw in real life to the adventure we'd read about. He learned so much about the Incan civilization and Peru.

Favorite Way to Make it Feel Like Home: Stick to some of your routines; even travelling overnight on a bus allowed us to still read to the kids and 'put them to bed'. We factored in down time as well so we could all get adjusted to the country - especially important when you're at altitude.

An Item you MUST Take With You While Traveling: Robert Munsch books in the Annikin series - each book measures 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" which is PERFECT for backpacking.

Thanks Morag!
