With Valentine's Day right around the corner, I thought it might be the perfect time to look into wallpapers that can subtly sexify the boudoir. While many of these work their magic on a subconscious level — much classier than a wall decal that says "Hey, Sexytime…" — it goes without saying that they are sorta Not Safe For Work.
Also unsafe for work? An image search for "erotic wallpaper". I had somewhat better results searching for "erotic wallpaper paper", but still, there are times when I'm relieved there's nobody around to notice my search history…
- Sarah Jane Palmer's Soixante Neuf (I'm sure even the non-French speakers can translate that one) wallpaper is available from Coco de Mer . It is handprinted in either red or black, and costs £160 for a 5m x 52cm sheet. She also created the Sixty-Niner wallpaper, which I got too shy to show you.
- Paper Voyeur's Erotic Art wallpaper is also available through Coco de Mer, in either Mercury Blue (shown), Lipstick, or Warm Black. It is £60 and measures 10.05 x 0.52 metres. Metres!
- Casa Sugar featured K-Lou's erotic toile wallpaper, full of naughty scenes.
- The "Erotic Chandelier Nude Naked Wallpaper" from Designer Wallcoverings lives up to its name, and I have at least two friends who would love this one. Unfortunately, you have to create an account in order to see the price.
- I'll end with one more wallpaper from Sarah Jane Palmer, this one featured on her Behance account. It certainly reflects her artist's statement, revealing her interest in "creating an essence of eroticism, humour and suspense".
Any other favorite sexy wallpapers? I tried to find a few more GLBT-friendly options, but only lucked out on a little L and B. Would you have erotic wallpaper in your home, maybe just on the wall behind your bed, or in the en suite bathroom — or do you find the whole thing to be too much?

Shaw's Original Fir...
Ew. I would never do this, anyway, but even if it was my style, I wouldn't do it because I'm not the only one who ever stays in my bedroom, and most people who live in small spaces are in the same boat.
Erm, maybe a bit too much for a public (careful how you spell that word) space. But in a discreet location, sure, why not. :)
we have a tiny half bathroom in our master bedroom - i think it would perfect in there.
Absolutely not. Wallpaper is dead to me.
The first two are funny because you have to look twice at them to see it, but I think it would still look absurd in our bedroom. I also can't imagine when we sell the place bringing a realtor in and showing them that wallpaper. Oh my. I'm probably a prude, but I just can't picture that kind of wallpaper in a family home.
can't do wallpaper, but if this were my own house, I'd put the erotic chandelier in my private bath. Or maybe my closet.
Even though I'm mostly OUT of the closet!
Perfect for a powder room. Have a little fun with your guests.
I would use this as a drawer liner for my nightstand!
Those are fun, especially the first two. I'd be inclined to buy enough for a couple large frames instead of covering a room. When tired of it, I could put it away for a while, then bring it back out again (great especially if you want to shock someone who would disapprove).
The toile is hilarious but I can't imagine using these, mostly because the designs aren't that good, but also because it seem like a horny adolescent trying to annoy his parents or something. We get it. You like the sexy times. Moving on...
I love it! Very clever and Aubrey Beardsley-esque. I can think of people who might use this lavishly (nightclubs, say, or the type of person who would have a special...uh...room for this sort of thing), but for most, I love the idea of drawer liners or lining a locked bedside box with it. ;)
I've been looking for this to decorate my upscale bordello! Thanks!
Fun to line a drawer, but nothing that I'd have to look at regularly.
I think it would be interesting in the dressing room of a lingerie boutique or a BDSM club, but an every day bedroom? I blush :)
Great idea to use it as a naughty drawer liner.
I'm certainly no prude (and no one has nor would ever accuse me of being one) but these are just silly.
These are hilarious, and the last option has that granny-meets-sexy quality that is so very hard to come by. Thanks for the laugh!
I find these amusing. I would use #4...sure why not? It's fun and sure would make for a conversation starter. I see nothing wrong with these but I DO NOT think the folks that don't care for them are prudes..just not their style.
i don't like wallpaper in general, so this wouldn't go up, but i'd certainly hang it as a framed print. then again, most of the art hanging in my home is NC-17.
No. Unless you have a narrow landing strip that needs a good wallpapering. Or an Ikea like set of instructions; that still may be hard to figure out.
USE it as an Ikea like set of instructions!
A small bathroom, but nothing larger or more public. They'll add a certain spark/shock value . It kind of reminds me of the artwork in our local Buca di Beppo, naughty yet with a wink.
I've seen number 4 used in a tea shop before, it actually worked quite well!
Great concept!
I would no more (or less) do this than pick something that was shocking just for the shock value.
It's funny and amusing to look at in the context of this post, but I feel like it's more "needy" (LOOK what I put on my walls everyone!) than personal style/design.
I found these very amusing, but not to have on my wall (dislike wallpaper) to look at everyday - perhaps use as book covers for that private collection?
The images aren't loading here and now! Suppose that's deliberate???
I (from the thumbnails) think it's ugly. (I mostly hate wallpaper except for grasscloth and similar textures in small amounts.) So there is that.
If I wanted erotica on the wall, though, I would prefer to have a mural of a Japanese woodcut or something like that, with a little class and elegance.
All I can think of is the soup bowls in The Bird Cage.
"Why, it looks like young men playing leapfrog!"
@rmbmn, is that a landing strip innuendo? If not, google what the term landing strip actually refers to and you'll suddenly find your comment a lot funnier!
Day-um. I had no idea this existed. Thanks, AT! :o)
One not on the list: Fishnet wallpaper from Brooklyn's Flavor Paper. http://www.flavorpaper.com/wallpaper/detail_in_cat/53/95/Fishnet
And the 4th paper "Erotic" is actually by English designer Louise Body. She has some beautiful non-erotic papers as well. Here is her link: http://www.louisebody.com/product_page.php?pid=Erotic%20Wallpaper
Thanks for the information, @jenn | riotise- I actually think that Fishnet paper functions best as wallpaper out of all of them!
Haha! These are funny! I would probably use one of them (I especially like #3) in a small bedroom area of the house. Maybe inside of a closet? Where a child wouln't see.... lol
yes, innuendo, akay. A swatch of each of these framed and well hung (yes, innuendo again) would be better than a sophomoric, as someone else mentioned, thought of putting up pornpaper in a room.
Never would do this, but it brought back memories for me when I was about 10 years old. My family went to visit my great grandfather in another state and he was very fond of ice cream. We went into his kitchen to get it out of the freezer and his kitchen walls were covered with naked ladies on his wallpaper. Quite a shock to us children. LOL
One of my favorite restaurants, Resto, in Manhattan has papers like these in their restrooms. I remember seeing a different paper in the men's room vs. the ladies' room which I thought made it even funnier that they would select the paper for the user, but how heteronormative of them! ;)
