Commercial Flour Sa...
I've been wanting to get one since having kids old enough to ask questions about geography. Growing up we had one and it came in handy many times to demonstrate places we talked about, trips we or friends were going on, etc. I like "decor" that is actually functional and truly a conversation piece many times over. Going to enjoy your examples I think.
Fad or not, I still love globes. My parents had one that I could look at for hours when I was little. I don't think I would want 10 of them, because I don't have that kind of shelf space, but 1, or maybe 2, would be nice.
I spy Ashley Ann's kitchen...I've been there, and really everything in her house is wonderful! I can't pass up a good globe either- they are so much fun to use in decor.
Antique globes are the best. I have three and would love to get more.
A large floor globe like this would be incredible (if my house were large enough to accommodate it): http://quotationsbook.com/assets/shared/img/6230/Teddy_Roosevelt_portrait.jpg
This is a fad I don't think I'll ever tire of. I just don't like the faux antiqued look on globes or maps. But new globes/ modern globes, and the natural patina of truthfully aged globes will always hold a certain appeal over me.
I love globes of all kinds, fad or not and also maps. They seem classic to me and that usually never goes out of style.
I love globes! Moon globes are also very unique and great conversation starters.
I've always loved globes and maps. They will never go out of fashion in my home. The older the better, and I love "authentic" maps that have been used on our road trips and got all creased and bent and marked where we traveled. They are special memories and look great on a wall. Educates the kids too.
Visited Monticello on a recent road trip. Thomas Jefferson decorated pretty heavily with maps, so I'm fairly certain using maps and globes is a little bit more than a trend.
