We found the Bahia de la Luna (Bay of the Moon) resort online, and we've been dreaming of a Mexican getaway ever since. Located on the Pacific Coast in the state of Oaxaca, the resort contains 11 bungalows that encircle a small bay...
The bungalows range from as low as $55 (US dollars) per night for a one-room hut in the low season up to $240 per night for a 6-person bungalow during holidays. The hotel is 6 hours from the city of Oaxaca, near the town of Puerto Angel. A few photos from the picture gallery:

My wife and I had our room broken into while we were there. The thieves stole a bunch of our stuff (camera, ipod, clothes) and management just patted us on the back. It was too late in the day for us to leave go to another hotel, so we had to stay another night in the same room because "the other available cabins were not clean and the cleaning person had gone home."
What an insult.
About the rest of the stay, the food is mediocre and since they have you as a captive audience they charge you way too much for it.
As for the beach, it is nice, but what the ads do not mention is that while the beach is secluded, dozens of boats pull in every day ad drop off tons of tourists. So the beach is just as crowded. Furthermore, because of the motors on the boats, the beach is often filled with the smell of motor oil.
