Hit the Road! We love us some road trips and always seem to forget that under the wrong (i.e. hot, traffic-y, boring) conditions, driving sucks. So this time, before setting off we're taking certain precautions. Not the first of which is logging on to Road Trip America to check out some great road trip related tips including classic road trip songs.

Before you get your motor running (oh yeah, I brought it) take a look-see at these sites:

AT:Home Tech blogs the best devices for a Road Trip
Be Car Aware: Tips for pre-roadtrip car maintenance.
Summer Road Trip Checklist brought to you by the US Government.
Gas Buddy to help you find the cheapest gas in town.
Oprah's Checklist (C'mon, you know you want to)
Real Simple: Road Trip Guide

This is a basic checklist. PLEASE feel free to add to it, we can use all the help we can get, 10 hours man, each way):

-Alarm Clock (For getting up early, somehow if you leave at dawn, the first 3 hours of the trip don't count)
-Maps (duh) but this time we're taking the iPhone and will never be lost again!
-Shades, cool ones.
-Tunes (Definitely not forgetting a little CCR and Steve Miller Band)
-Phone charger
-Water and Snacks (In no particular order: Trader Joes 'Tempting' Trail Mix, baby carrots, celery, tomatoes, pineapple, mochi, salt and vinegar chips and turkey sandwiches. If anyone know where to get coke made with sugar and not corn syrup, we're taking that too!)
-Digital Camera
-Sweater for when we can't agree on a temperature in the car.
