July is Adventures and Outings month on Ohdeedoh where we'll be featuring tips, ideas and products to make traveling with young ones more fun and less challenging. But even if a vacation isn't in the cards right now, you can still plan an "escape" while staying at home.
This inspiring photo we found over at Design Is Mine really reminds us of the joys of summer. A simple thing like pitching a tent in the living room or letting siblings share a room for the night can be as fun as any mini-vacation. Once you've got the tent set up, let your kids bring in their favorite toys and books and push bedtime back. Make this a routine treat in your house for the rest of summer.

Ercol Bar Stool
My husband and his buddies recently organized a backyard campout for our two kids and seven of their friends. It was a big hit--and all the moms went out for drinks together while they camped.

That's my kind of camping.
No lie. That looks so fun!
Brilliant idea, but I'd also add that it might be fun to set up camp in the living room after the kids have gone to bed.
