There are lots of guys I know out there who care about having nicely-designed interiors but are intimidated by the thought of putting them together. A furniture and accessories collection called Esquire Home, a brand extension of the men's lifestyle magazine by the same name, is designed by Halo and aims to help guys make easy decorating decisions.

The collection offers a range of items that appeal to everyone from rustic bearded mountainman to sleek city banker, with options that can be mixed to create a safely-eclectic look. The project aims to be another tool for creating "a lifestyle focused on comfort, luxury, and sophistication" for people who are already loyal to the brand. We like that you can literally design an entire room with attractive furniture (including bar options), accessories, and rugs from these pieces, so those men who hate shopping will have an easy time navigating the process. There's nothing mindblowing about Esquire Home stylistically, but it is a well-rounded group of universally accepted men's classic furniture that looks a whole lot better to us than a black leather recliner.

They grey sofa looks strangely out of proportion-legs too high maybe?
I'm not impressed so far, but we'll see. I would disagree with this notion that the only way to design a masculine room is to use large, dark, worn-leather pieces and steel or brass accents.
man cave furniture and antler chandeliers.. our favorite thing!

Why isn't this tagged as an "Inside Man" post?
I love it.

Wow. Esquire got it so so so so wrong with this Home collection.
Awful.
Usually, decor labeled as "masculine" is too dark and heavy for me. Guys don't need to be taught what their style is, they just need to become interested in not living in a s**thole.
I've always loved "masculine" furniture and accessories. The aren't fussy or frilly and are usually very well made. I made pottery in another life and someone once told me my pieces weren't graceful. I told them there was no grace at my table and I made things to take hard use - so I guess that's why I like masculine surroundings!
If Pottery Barn wrapped every single thing they made in dull brown leather with faux distressing, you would have "Esquire Home." No thanks.
This strikes me as more cliched than helpful. It is possible, after all, to be masculine without swaddling every last inch of the room in animal skin and black paint.
But apparently that didn't occur to these people.
the odd thing is.. i enjoy antlers, luggage details and leather.. and i still feel as though i'm being punked. i just think men need to feel as though it's ok to put thought and effort into their spaces. to think outside of the box(y 3-seater sofa). Also masculinity is a trait by nature, not by gender. There are plenty of women who prefer streamlined interiors with "no frills or fuss" that do not look as though theyre missing a lumberjack's shirt hanging from the door knob.
This is just one guys opinion.. but i dont feel like any guy that ive seen on this website - house tours and the like - would be caught dead in these rooms.. (although if they were caught dead, they'd also be rugs)
