Esthex Dolls and Music Boxes

There's no hint of the precious in Dutch designer Esther Schuivens' collection of dolls and mobiles for her company Esthex.

Winsome dolls with names like Lola and Naomie have floppy candy-striped legs and arms, looking ready to any kids' toy box yet also pretty enough to display on a bookshelf. Handmade in the Netherlands of felt and cotton, each piece is distinctive.

We're also partial to the music boxes made by the company, a collection of funky little round faces with a variety of expressions that has a music box built inside.

Nonchalant Mom has a well-chosen selection of Esthex goods, and both the dolls and music boxes will set you back $44 apiece.

Would make beautiful baby shower gifts, or a birthday present for a little girl or boy.
