We're currently working through an obsession with all things succulent, air plant or science related &mdash so imagine our glee when stumbling upon Etsy seller, TortoiseLovesDonkey, whose shares our passion, but on a miniature scale! The shop sells the tiniest air plants and succulents in containers ranging from little test tube vials and glass beakers to tiny concrete planters.
TortoiseLovesDonkey's adorable terrariums would make great green wedding favors (use as your wedding decor and then your guests can take them home!) or as a long lasting replacement to your everyday floral centerpiece. Most of the vessels are salvaged, upcycled or straight out of a science lab and are beautiful!

These are adorable. I've been collecting terranium pics for the last month or so, and am eager to make a few of my own.
I bought my first succulent plant last year - it looked like the ones in the second photo here. But it grew so fast, and lost its cute factor very quickly. If it were one of my other houseplants, I'd just trim it, but obviously I can't trim a succulent.
So these succulents look so cute and tidy, but what does everyone do when the succulent grows up and out and starts to look spindly? Or was it just mine?
I thought it would stay small (or grow very very slowly), like a cactus.
Can anyone else share their experience with me?
My girlfriend bought three of these from TortoiseLovesDonkey for me for Christmas! They came with a very nice note and detailed care instructions. All three were securely packaged and did well getting through the mail.
I recently got some free tiny succulents from a local garden shop and put them in some old glass spice jars, slightly larger than the etsy buys. This worked pretty well and look great!
As for longevity of TortoiseLovesDonkey's tiny terrariums, since December one has not made it and the other two are doing well and really haven't grown much at all. :)
I've bought air plants from her, and love love love them!
