We love vintage quilts. It's probably hardwired into the DNA-code somewhere -- Mom is a quilter, so was Grandma.
So we're falling in love with these vintage quilted coasters. They're like little mini-quilts for your coffee table. If we weren't so happy with our Chaba coasters, we'd snap these up quick.

A set of rikrak recycled fabric coasters is $6 on Etsy.
They're made from repurposed vintage fabrics; they're machine washable; and they're iron-able. More than anything, we like the fact that their uniqueness -- so many color and pattern possibilities.
Given our new found success in the world of simple sewing, we wonder if we could make a few of these on our own ...
Probably better to leave it to rikrak.

Yay for repurposed fabrics! I've got repurposed fabric coasters (with cocktail images) in my Etsy shop as well. http://thegreencat.etsy.com/
