The fragrant plant is easy to find and smells wonderful. It's not what we'd initially think of when decorating for the holidays, but it's a cheap, easy way to get a little green indoors. Here are a few ideas for putting it to use if you love it, too:
This wreath at Not on the High Street (above) has a skinny proportion that's casual and cool - it's simply made of twigs and a string of eucalyptus. Add a festive ribbon and you have a unique nod to the season.
Alternatively, you can create a wall-hanging from a small clipping of the plant (as seen at left). You could make a dozen of these from a standard bunch of eucalyptus from the florist. Spread them through the home for a great smell in every room. Or, hang them on chairs at the table when you're entertaining.
In the final image above, the simple eucalyptus is transformed into a lavish garland by Martha Stewart at her Turkey Hill home.

Eucalyptus - the most wonderful smell!
That is a very sad looking wreath.
Eucalyptus is great, but beware - it is very sticky and takes a couple hand washes to get rid of the gunk on your hands!
I agree with slowdown; that wreath makes me want to cry.
That first wreath is one of the more pathetic things... is it the Charlie Brown version?
