Reading design blogs takes up a lot of our time and oftentimes we take a break and indulge in the guilty pleasures of perusing a celeb blog or two. Scrolling the pages of People Magazine's Blog we spotted movie star, Eva Mendes joining the ranks of celebrities that team up with well known department stores to brand products.
When we hear the term "luxury bedding" we always get nervous that we'll end up with jewel toned, frilly edged bedding. Couple that with the "luxury bedding" being designed by a famous actress and we get downright scared. So when we found out that Eva and her partner, George Augusto, have created a home decor line for Macy's called Vida, lets just say we were skeptical. They intend for the bedding to inspire "everyday luxury" and are starting out with 5 signature styles. The two shown here are called Isabella described as "elegant gold and rich mocha jacquard" and Bettina, characterized as "saturated, warm colors." The remaining trio are Rosa, "gold and ornate embroidery in micro-sateen," Kalia, "romantic detailing," and Jayde characterized as "floral pattern jacquard." The signature styles are scheduled to hit stores Mid-September paving the way for an extended home decor line. Because the rest of the collection is still under wraps we look forward to seeing the range of Eva's designs since we aren't quite sold on what Macy's has shown us.
We wanna know what you think... would you go to bed with Eva's sheets?

Yeesh. Keep your day job, Eva.
great! now i have something to put on my Kathy Ireland bed!
Are we supposed to believe that she actually had anything to do with the design of this bedding?
Ugh. Why are celebrities with no design background allowed to have these vanity projects? This is very insulting to actual designers who do this for a living and have "paid their dues".
Then again, a few more collections like this and the world will get wise.
Eva: you are no Kylie Minogue.
looks like the typical 'bed-in-a-bag' sets...cheap and too matchy
yuck!
i can't stop staring at the bad "art" in the second photo...
Really? Reallly? wow.
Neither would work for me. The both look sad!
I've just lost a lot of respect for her!
Eww. What qualifies Eva to create this line?
Both these bedding sets suck the life out of those rooms. I will pass on this, much like I pass on most movies that she is in.
Thumbs down.
looks like every other "bed in a bag" comforter set. takes a great style, color palate, or pattern then f*&^ks it up.
Did she go to Design school? At least she doesn't have a perfume coming out or maybe I'm speaking too soon.
Looks just like a Macy's or JCPenney's bed set...not good.
I thought at first that she did the furniture, and I liked the table, the lamp and the headboard. The bedding? Well, that's another story.
I've seen this garbage first hand. It is polyester, it is hideous, and the very idea that someone would put this on a bed makes me want to cry.
On QVC or something: perhaps. But why does Macy's need a line from a mediocre actress and her boyfriend? Surely there is a long line of excellent designers available and eager for a Macy's line. This completely perplexes me.
What BlahdeBlah said.
BORING...matchy outdated...old fashion.....she joined the ranks of selling her name like all money hungry celebs do..maybe you could put these ugly Eva Mendez sheets on ugly Cindy Crawfords beds.
