Name: Evan, Amy, Miller (2), Ivy (1 month), and dog Heidi
Location: Glendale, California
Like the two little kids that live here, this home is constantly growing. A table moves here, a bookshelf moves there, pictures shift in frames. But what stays true is the hope that this space inspires comfort and creativity.
William Morris said it best, "Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." This home has evolved to be a well curated mixture of thrifted, vintage, big box store finds, kids' toys, gym bags, even dusty dog hair. Each corner of this 1100 square foot apartment is loved and purposeful.

Simply gorgeous.
whenever i arrive at amy and evan's there is always something new to look at, something creative she's recently made to be admired, or the furniture has been rearranged to suit their needs or for an updated look. it's refreshing and i love it...only it takes a backseat to little miller greeting me at the door with a giant hug around my knees!
This is a lovely space. Modernism, as it evolved in the home, was really about creating light furniture that was easily moved around to suit different situations. I think its the ideal way to furnish a house with children.
amy has the most unique and eclectic decorating tastes, something i'm very jealous of. she's so creative and maximizes her funds and her living space to create such a warm and welcoming home.
such a consistent color palette and brightness!
Great space! I love the two pale green chairs in the first picture. I'm also really inspired by the grouping of the three paintings in the third picture - I never have the guts to buy/display original art because it's so hard for me to picture how it's going to look in a space, but this has inspired me to start keeping an eye open for some paintings to hang on my (still empty) walls.
Wonderful!
Great space! Beautiful and curated without looking "overproduced." A great example of what is possible with little kids around.
I love the look of the dining room with the pitchers displayed on the china cabinet. Also love the artwork since I really love original paintings instead of prints of museum pieces like so many people use. Everything is bright and really comfortable and well as fashionable looking.
Great space! I love that everything goes without being precisely matched.
Beautiful! LOVE the pitchers! So cute how they're displayed :)
Everything looks organized but also lived in...like I could come over, relax on one of the chairs and sip tea...and not feel weird about putting my feet up!
The blue-painted hutch is a lovely touch.
I really love the color scheme and the armchairs in the living room.
I love the kids' the room, especially the mobile! I should do that for my daughter's room.
Very cool armchairs... Great color!!
I would love to see more - house tour AT? please!
This apartment is inspiring! It is so modern and cozy and inviting and kid friendly, a very hard balance to find. I would love my house to look like this!
That mobile is fantastic!, and I love the overall palate. I keep coming back to this page unannounced, so it only seems fair to say something. :) Would love to see more of the changing and "growing" the house does with two kids around.
