Craft rooms are enticing. I wonder what it is, specifically? The organization (or at least the potential) of it? The assorted mix of boxes, cubbies and containers? The variety of colors, textures, patterns and objects?
To steal a phrase from the kitchen, I like the mise en place — putting in place or everything in place. Even the most minimal craft area usually has at least a pencil holder. Then...then you can begin!

I use Ikea's Expedit to store my fabric too! It's so nice. I don't fold, though, I roll the pieces up like they do with remnants at textile stores and tie with pony tail holders. Works like a charm - I love how the expedit makes a huge pile of fabric look organized!
