I'm keeping my holiday shopping to a minimum this year; instead, I'm sewing and throwing (pottery). Since I'm on a craft kick, I was super (super!) geeked when I came across a brilliant new source for craft projects. And what's more: the founders of Thursdays take their craft endeavors to the next level by surrounding themselves with friends, food, and wine. Let Thursdays inspire you to throw a crafting event to catch-up with friends? Love it!

Thursdays was established to formalize get togethers that were already happening, and have been for one group of young women for the past seven years. Their events are about spending quality time with loved ones and friends, and those get togethers just so happen to occur on Thursdays and include crafts and dinner.

What a great idea for a holiday celebration. Instead of doing a gift exchange, plan a crafting night. Or better yet, plan an exchange crafting night: draw a name at the beginning of the evening; make your craft; give it to that friend before you depart.

Now do you see why I love this?
