Last Thursday evening I had the pleasure of attending the opening of Squint's new showroom in South Kensington. Squint has been a fixture in the edgy Shoreditch design scene for years, but with their price point they were long overdue for a stunning showroom in the West End.
The evening was a celebration of the British made over the top colorful patchwork furniture creations of Lisa Whatmough. It was nice to see their signature patchwork style evolving into gorgeous monochromatic pieces and more delicate silk patchwork pieces.
The new showroom boasts an open garden space and a gorgeous open ceiling. The South Kensington location will have lamps, cushions, and other small accessories available for takeaway. In addition to her bespoke furnishings, Lisa is also releasing her first line of fabrics and wallpapers.

Wow, I hate those lamps so much I feel itchy!!! Especially the green velvet one. OMG!
too funny. that green velvet stag lamp is MY HEARTS DESIRE. seriously.
Good grief those are nasty. Still, good for her, there's truly no accounting for taste and if she can make a living off it...
wow. that chartreuse velvet deer lamp is a travesty. much of this looks like the designer vomited every single idea in their head onto the products. i can't see using any of this without a heavy dose of irony *and* a hard squint so i don't have to see too clearly.
um, something positive: lots of happy colors and some of those swatches of pattern look nice.
I LOVE this! The yellow chest with the gray chair? Beautiful. And the chandeliers are so fun. A few of these pieces would really brighten anyone's home.
