If you're living the loft life, exposed pipes often come with the territory. Love 'em or hate 'em, your neighbors need their utilities so they're there to stay. The way we look at it, you can deal with exposed pipes in two ways: hide them or highlight them.

Blend in

Color is key when you're trying to make pipes less noticeable. Especially if you're also blessed with soaring ceilings, matching the pipes to your ceiling color will make them almost visually disappear.

Stand out

Use color again to achieve the opposite effect. Highlighting pipes with brights or contrast can make them into a showstopper. Or make like Chris and Hannah (last picture) and add an embellished ceiling or bright fan to really draw the eye up up up.
