This room is TINY! Eighty-five square feet to be exact. This room used to be a loft and is right next to Stella and Olivia's room that is also undergoing a transformation to a big girl's room.
I tried to keep the room colorful, cozy, and feeling larger than it actually is. My main inspirations were Louie's nursery on Everything I Love and Daphne's Glamorous Nursery on Apartment Therapy.
I fell in love with the Anthropologie artist rug and the use of black and white stripes. The rug was no longer available (and WAY out of my budget), so I created a similar feeling with the painting that hangs next to the crib. I already had most of the things found in this room - it was just a matter of repurposing them or making them.

Great painting, love the pop of color.
This is so lovely. The gentle, muted color choices. The stripes I love it! Critique though: is the placement of the mirror right over the crib wise? What if it drops on the baby? The owner lives in earthquake country.
I LOVE this room. Such a good job with a teeny tiny area.
I love this nursery. I cannot believe it's such a small size. I do worry about the mirror (although it could be fastened in such a way as to withstand the average shake) and the trunk. They are beautiful but the mirror could fall and, unless there are safety hinges, the trunk lid could crash down on the big girls now, or the baby later.
hello, ezra's mom here. thank you all for the lovely compliments! to ease your concerns, the mirror above the crib is hung securely from hooks that make it very hard to move off the wall. any earthquakes that hit the major fault lines rarely {if ever} make it to us, and even if they do, it's never enough to knock anything off the walls, most people never even feel them. as for the trunk, it is quite heavy and pushed up against the wall, making it impossible to open {even by myself} without pulling it several inches away from the wall {something my newly turned 2 year olds cannot do}. it takes much effort for me to even pull it out. thank you though for pointing out your concerns! {and the crib bumpers will also be removed soon.}
Love the idea of hanging the mini globes over the crib. Neat!
Beautiful room! This is about the size of our nursery for our 6 wk old daughter - it's 81 square feet (also with no closet like yours). I like the small space - it makes it nice and cozy!
The room is lovely and, I'm sure, perfectly safe since it was put together by an obviously smart and thoughtful momma.
sorry, TINY does not begin to describe 85 sq feet [7.89 sq m] - small, sure, but my kids [4 and 6] until recently shared a room much smaller than this [just under 7sqm] and we had room for two twin beds [yes, one was lofted], the 8-drawer Hemnes dresser, and a small armchair, even though there were doors on two adjacent walls and large windows on the third wall. My ~50yo DH recently moved into a 12sqm apartment which is the biggest space she has ever had in her entire adult life, and she manages to fit herself, her husband and her teenage son [when he has school holidays].
Of course, they don't worry too much about design...
I love the globes!
Cozy nursery! I was wondering if you painted the crib? I love the idea of painting a crib, but am wondering how you go about it safely since babies seem to chew on them once they can stand :) If you did paint yours any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
@shellatorg: the crib was originally a cherrywood color, so i sanded it, primed it, painted one coat of paint (benjamin moore), rubbed it all over with steel wool and painted another coat of paint. when ezra has teeth and is old enough to chew on it, i'll cover the top portions with a teething guard so he doesn't ingest paint. :)
