If you feel sad about discarding your Christmas tree after the holidays (even if you do it responsibly), you're not the only one. Since 2009 French designer Fabian Cappello has been making furniture out of discarded Christmas trees he finds on the streets of London. This year, in collaboration with Gallery Libby Sellers in London, you can place an order for one of Cappello's handcrafted Christmas Tree Stools made out of your own Christmas tree!

Cappello recently gave a short interview to The New York Times where he talks about how he got started. He speaks to the fact that around 1 million trees arrive in London every year, and how the emotional connection people have to them—this idea "that you actually buy a tree and cherish it so much for a short period of time, and then you just throw it away"— was an interesting premise upon which to use the material.

Gallery Libby Sellers is accepting orders for stools until January 6th. See here for all the details.
