We're going to set aside our jealousy that this cool kids' table and chair set was a Salvation Army find and instead focus on their terrific makeover achieved with paint and fabric. If you live in the Richmond, VA area this could be yours...and if you don't, read on for inspiration (and to see the "before").

Here's the table and chairs before being brought back to life by a self-professed "thrift store junkie" who rescues neglected pieces and transforms them with paint, fabric, wallpaper and imagination. She has an Etsy shop called Darling Octopus (and a blog by the same name) filled with doctored pieces like chairs, lamps, side tables and storage boxes. Most pieces she can ship to you or large items like the kids' table and chairs can be picked up in the Richmond area.

Even if you're not in a shopping mood, we think Darling Octopus is a great inspiration and reminder of how satisfying it can be to reimagine and rework existing pieces into something you love again.
