If your skill set skews more traditional than digital, you'll be as psyched as I was to learn about these fabrics designed to be sewn into cloth books for babies.
One of my favorite things about Spoonflower (a service that prints fabric you design) is the weekly contests they hold. A recent one challenged participants to design fabric that could be made into a soft, fabric book. While I'd love to have the know-how to design my own fabric, I do know how to sew and this is a great way to make something from super cute fabric.
Follow the links above to purchase the fabric and see more contest entrants at Spoonflower.

Wait....what?!? How have I never heard of Spoonflower? I am definitely going to design my own cloth book. Cool!
That first one is just gorgeous! Definitely a great idea for handmade gifts as well.
AmberM--watch out, it is addicting. By "it" I mean both designing and browsing what others have designed. There is some amazing stuff out there, but I love the fact that if you can dream it, you can get it. Some nurseries on here have had all the fabrics designed on Spoonflower to create their own vision.
P.S. Bora (the circus book designer) has won several other weekly contests. Check out his/her? cute stuff.
