I have fabric on my wall in the dining room in 2 places, for the large piece I had my husband make the frame out of 2x4's ,but the smaller one is canvas stretcher bars that you can get at any craft or hobby store. Then all you need is a staple gun and some fabric.
I did the same as lorijo with some vintage fabric off eBay and canvas stretchers - probably cost me all of $25 bucks.
