For her daughter's third birthday, Annalea came across this antique doll bed. It was in several pieces with paint that was less than awesome. $5 and a little elbow grease later, she was able to present the sweetest, bubblegum-pink doll bed we've ever seen.
Annalea came across this vintage find on Freecycle and put it to fabulous use. Although gifts purchased from the store are just fine, there's a certain warmth that accompanies something that has been touched, crafted or worked on first.
It's a gift that was given new life and done so with love, even Sleeping Beauty loves it — so much in fact, she's lost her head over the whole ordeal!
You can read up more on the project over at Our Hartbeat.
Thanks Annalea!

Cute! (even with the decapitated princess doll!) If it were mine, I'd slice open that mattress & replace the stuffing with that from an old feather pillow which would not only comform better to the bed but also have that old feather bed appeal, too. Good job, Annalea!
Does anyone know where to find a little piano like that? Or what company makes them?
Schoenhut is the company that comes to mind. I just googled it to make sure I spelled it right and there are a ton of online vendors. Good quality, but not too cheap, so maybe check craigslist or ebay for a second-hand find.
what fun to see our doll bed here!
abbygraykit: thanks! the mattress is actually an old (lumpy) twin-size pillow we had on hand. i like the idea of using a feather pillow though - i'll keep an eye out for one.
trixielich: the piano is a schoenhut. we received it as a gift, but i have seen them all over.
Great!! loveit!
I love this! And I LOVE the green curtains! were those made or purchased?
the curtains were made from jennifer paganelli's fabric sis boom casey green scroll.
and thank you!
Love all of the colors and fabrics; feminine, age-appropriate, but not overly "baby."
Such a cute space! Do you know the wall paint color?
