abandoned home or building makes my heart ache a little. But it also stirs my imagination much more than a manicured, lived-in home. Apparently 9,928 Facebookers feel similarly. I live within walking distance of Jamaica Pond in Jamaica Plain and for the first eight years that I lived here I used to love to dawdle in the vicinity of the abandoned Pinebank Mansion, which used to sit atop a "bluff" at the pond. Sadly the remains of the Mansion were demolished in 2007. Check out pinebank.org for history of the Pinebank Mansion. Creepy, Old Abandoned Houses includes photos and commentary about these dilapidated structures from all over the world. There's a wide interpretation of "creepy" and "old" and even "houses" (the page definitely includes buildings as well as individual homes.) To join the page, click here. Is there an abandoned house or building that holds a special place in your heart?
