Clothing and children's gifts with a focus on fair trade and organic products
($) Budget - ($$) Mid-Range
I saw this cute froggy at a thrift shop for $1 recently and, after snapping him up, I inspected the label to see who the maker was: Fair Indigo. I checked them out online when I got home and learned about the company's commitment to socially responsible products.
Fair Indigo primarily sells men's and women's clothing, but they have a small collection of soft good for babies and children including blankets and a collection of stuffed animals, mini blankies/loveys and sweaters called Joobles. The Joobles line (including the first three products pictured above) are handknit by Peruvian cooperatives using organic yarn and safe dyes. The children of these workers receive educational benefits from the Fair Indigo Foundation.
Working directly with producers whenever they can allows Fair Indigo to keep their prices within reach. Their blankets are about $45, stuffed animals about $25, for example.
