Joel's favorite OTHER entry:

My favorite entry in the contest (besides my own) is: #42 John & Anna's Old and New Rendezvous - Not only does the overall aesthetic appeal to my particular tastes, I like the use of color. It's interesting that even though the wall isn't white, the green (in the first picture) manages to become a canvas highlighting the artwork in front...

All the colors in the art piece work well with it. In the second picture, despite the brightness of the rug and artwork, the simplicity of the combination is warm and interesting without being overdone.

What do you want to do next in your home, if anything, to improve it?:

There are actually two things I would like to do to my place next. The first is to completely finish the living area. It's almost there as you can see in the pics but it's not quite complete. That's why a CB2 prize is so appealing!. Then, I also want to finish my kitchen. It is the room I like to spend a lot of time in and right now it still has the industrial unfinished feel of a typical Brooklyn converted loft. I like the industrial aesthetic but it needs to gain some human feeling to make it comfortable and a pleasure to work in.
