Fall Colors 2008 : Now Accepting Contest Submissions

Apartment Therapy and CB2 are excited to announce that we are now taking submissions for our fourth annual Fall Colors Contest. Starting today, readers interested in entering their colorful homes in the contest can visit the contest home page for all rules and submission guidelines. We're awarding $5000 in prizes among our winners and the first 25 complete US submissions will each receive Apartment Therapy's new book: "Apartment Therapy presents Real Homes, Real People, Hundreds of Real Design Solutions" published by Chronicle Books.

We made significant changes to the submission and voting process — which is also outlined on the contest home page. Check it out! We can't wait to see this year's collection of colorful homes.

what are those things on the wall on the right hand picture?

Original !: Pachinko (ãƒ‘ãƒãƒ³ã‚³, Pachinko?) is a Japanese gaming device used for amusement and prizes. Although pachinko machines were originally strictly mechanical, modern pachinko machines are a cross between a pinball machine and a video slot machine.

Hmm. Do the pictures above mean that a "colorful" house has to look like a jar of jelly beans?

I notice that subdued colors get drowned out in favor of bright, loud, "popping" color in this contest. Maybe there could be a subcategory for homes that don't have a turquoise accent wall... :-)

Lisa -- not at all. Check out last year's 2nd Prize winners Nathaniel & Keith. Their use of subdued color was a hit with readers and judges.
