Annie & Michael's favorite OTHER entry:
Our favorite submission in the 2007 Fall Colors Contest belongs to ChrisToronto's Winter Antidote. Specifically the living room. It is very symmetrical, sophisticated and was designed using wonderful textures such as the wallpaper.
Tell us about your favorite colorful object in your home:
In our own home our favorite object of color is the blue vintage Curtis Jielde floor lamp which was designed by an industrialist, not a lamp designer. It is functional, attractive, and made with no compromises. It has tooled joints and a very hard finish.

I wish the photography allowed us to get a better sense of the space as a whole, instead of just selected vignettes. But said vignettes are wonderful, especially all of that hanging color above the clean and neutral lines of your kitchen countertop. And I really like the repeated tones, even in separate rooms - the similar warmth of the chair and the headboard fabric against the rich yellows. Beautiful.
Thank you soooo much for the compliment, we are VERY flattered. PS, absolutely love your cane bench, the lines are so clean and modern yet the cane feels French somehow, a really lovely bridge between contemporary and traditional. Good luck!
absolutely love your home! im not usually a fan of yellow rooms, but your den really won me over :)
best of luck!
I agree about the photos; I don't think they represent this place (which looks interesting and comfortable) too well. And there are a couple of rooms with what look like a rather cold white wall that I don't like and that doesn't seem to fit the contest well as the features in the room dont do much to counteract that white. Maybe its just my monitor.
Agree with the above. The scale of the kitchen photo seems off to me - the stove burners look gigantic compared with the tiny pots and pans hanging on the wall.
They have created a perfect reading corner... chair, footrest, great lights, plants, mirror, and side tables.
i know its been posted here or elsewhere before, but in that first picture on this page, the white branch/tree jewelry stand...where is that from ?
Hello All-
I apologize that the pix don't give a good representation of our floor plan. I did take a few shots that showed the flow from room to room but they didnt make the cut.
The jewelry tree stand on my bedside table is actually from Urban Outfitters. It is powder coated cast metal and it I love it.
Thanks for all the support. See you at Modernica on Thursday?
Where is the cane bench from? My cats would probably rip it to shreds but I can always dream!
The cane back bench is from Empiric and is very durable (our cat can attest to this). The seat is vinyl but it can be made in any fabric or leather.
