As much as I hate to admit it, fall is here. It's still warm in the Bay Area, but yesterday I felt that hint of crispness in the air. When the weather starts to turn cool, it's a good time to get your home ready for the winter months. Here's a list that will help you get started ... Kiplinger.com's list of 9 steps to get your home ready for winter is a nice resource if you're interested in saving money and energy this winter. You might already be familiar with a number of the steps, but it's always nice to have a gentle reminder. The first three steps: 1. Tune up your heating system. 2. Buy a programmable thermostat. 3. Hit the roof. Get more details and the rest of the list at Kiplinger.com. (Image: Metro Milwaukee Living)
