Ever since my upholstery phase a few months back, I've had a real thing for jute webbing. Ok, that's probably a lie. I've loved it for as long as I can remember, but I picked some up recently and haven't really found a use for it yet. But I knew it was going to be great and this project looks like just the thing…
I love the rustic feel of jute webbing, and although it's intended purpose is to support things during an upholstery project, I can't help but want to put it to use in other places as well.
Over at Lemon Tree Creations, they've been hard at work pinning jute to a foam cooler as a guide and applying fabric stiffener. I suggest spraying a light coating of cooking spray on the outside before beginning so things don't stick.
They've used it as a fun fall planter, but I'm also thinking they'd make great little baskets throughout your home. If you're feeling daring, you could even decoupage a dresser front with the method! Look out now! Too crazy!
