Brooklyn artist Jessica Baker started making artwork out of fallen leaves when she discovered she could print on them much as one prints on paper. We're enthralled with the arrangement and beauty of the work and her preservation of what is normally so fleeting:
Some of her most intriguing prints feature prints of leaves on leaves. The result is multi-colored, concentric leaves that look like they somehow arrived at such a state naturally. All of her leaves are collected from sidewalks and outdoor spaces around Brooklyn, where she lives and works.

White Enamel Four-P...
Gorgeous! Does she sell prints of anything? Didn't see any indication of that on her website.
How beautiful are those leaves!
I love Autumn! The roads and pavements are just transformed by the scattered leaves. The way that the leaves become so embedded in those surfaces so that they almost look as though they are stenciled on, each leaf eventually disintegrating until all that is left is a stained silhouette, lying beneath the newly discarded leaves. Ah, London streets are charming to saunter down at this time of year. As good as any country lane!
She does indeed sell her work. I bought a leaf-print arrangement from Ms. Baker after visiting her Brooklyn studio. The gorgeous piece has been on my living-room wall for over a year and has magically changed since I first put it up. Just as Ms. Baker told me, the colors on many of the leaves have deepened while others have faded. It's like having a living work of art! I cherish it.
