Slice of nature. There's nothing like the look of natural wood. It has inherent warmth and brings a little bit of soul to any room. Over at Show, they have these amazing cutting boards, that are sliced from naturally fallen trees in Minnesota. Each one is sealed with satin finish moisture resistant laquer that is food safe...

I could see these also being used as great serving trays or even as trivets underneath a beautiful modern glass or white bowl. They come in several sizes (12", 15" and a set of 6 coasters) and prices range from $30-$40. Available at Show, on Vermont.

My grandfather who was a carpenter used to take slices of wood like these and attach clock workings and simple gold or brass upholstery tacks around the outer edge to make wall clocks. Little did I know grandpa was SO ahead of the fashion curve!
LOVE IT!
I'm getting one. I live near Los Feliz. Thanks for the tip!
are they not on the website, or am i not a total dumbnut?
I couldn't find them on the site either, and I looked in every category.
the wood cutting boards are not up on their website but only available in store. Perhaps if you contact them directly, they may be able to ship it to you-
We went and bought two of them this weekend. The owner of the store is ridiculously nice, and the store itself is awesome. They have a dog there named Astro. :)
I'm sure if you called them you could work something out. He said that ever since the Apartment Therapy mention the boards have been flying off the shelves, so I imagine you'd have to hurry if you want one.
I have had one of these in pretrty much daily use since 1980 and it still looks great.
