We kept things pretty casual for Casper's second birthday, opting to focus on the details to make it a special day. Cas loves animals so we went with a safari theme. 

Camping in your backyard is a special way to celebrate a birthday, while also enjoying the great outdoors. (It's also really, really nice that shelter is steps away in case of rain or other party catastrophes). Get into the spirit with a campfire, lanterns and — perhaps most importantly — a cake that looks like a big ol' S'more. 

Sometimes I think toy cars are like LEGO; they just keep multiplying forever until they take over your space. And, like LEGO, they can cause some serious damage if you step on one. There was something so beautifully simple about the design of Fisher-Price's Little People in their prime: that circle face and peg shaped body that has allowed for so much imaginative play for so many children across the last 60 years. But Little People haven't always looked the way I remember them, or how my kids know them now. So...just what happened to the Little People?
