The iconic Eames rocker is a well-loved addition to many nurseries that we have featured here. Most nursery rockers and gliders tend towards enormity, but this little workhorse is a stylish small space wonder that's great for nursing, reading, or just hanging out. More

I don't truly have Seasonal Affective Disorder but I've self-diagnosed myself with its milder cousin, Seasonal Cranky Disorder. It's only September and I'm already bemoaning the earlier sunsets and later sunrises. This is all probably compounded by my railroad-style apartment which gets a small amount of light in the front and back rooms leaving the middle rooms cavelike, including my son's room, especially in the fall and winter. All this is to say that my eyes and brain have been drawn to the bright, white interiors associated with Nordic countries and wondering how I can bring a bit of that look and feel into my own home. This is the nursery that I created for my son Emerson. Only a few items were purchased brand new; most were hand made by family and friends or refinished by me. More
Name: Olivia Ellen (3)
Location: Copenhagen, Denmark
Room Size: 107 sq ft
When your mother is a professional stylist you know you're going to end up with an amazing room. Rikke Graff Juel designed this space for her daughter, Olivia Ellen, in much the same Scandinavian style as the rest of her home - white walls, plenty of vintage wood pieces combined with fresh modern colors and accessories. The space somehow manages to feel simultaneously sophisticated and perfectly playful - a charming room that will grow well with its little inhabitant.
Removable Wallpaper & Decals
• $60/12 ft roll, $5-30 (decals)
• Spoonflower
First Spoonflower made fabric design accessible, now they've expanded to let users design and print removable wallpaper and decals. Not a "maker"? There will be a huge selection by fellow Spoonflowers to choose from.
I was browsing through past home tours here on Apartment Therapy and came across Kyle and Erin's bedroom decorated with one piece of large artwork. It is a painting of a lemon that the homeowner's actually painted themselves, and it reminds me a lot of the work of Enzo Mari (which I love). I thought, what could be more perfect for a nursery? It's bright, bold, and happy (and would be easy to DIY) - the right recipe for any child's space.
I was tickled when Elisabeth wrote about the re-issue of Patrick Ryland's lauded "Fish" (which won the Duke of Edinburgh's Design Award in 1970) because an original is sitting in my bathtub. It belongs to my husband and my mother-in-law had saved it all these years. It got me thinking about why certain designs endure over time and hold as much appeal today as when they were created. Then I started to wonder which bath toys from today have enough timeless appeal that I might one day want to hand them down to my own grandchildren.

Hans, His Chairs and The World

Famed Danish designer Hans Wegner may seem like an unlikely subject for a children's picture book, but you never know what children may find inspiring. The book which begins with Wegner's childhood apprenticeship to a cabinetmaker was created by the Tønder Museum of Art in his hometown.
