This room started as just Aiden's when he was 3 months old. It took a long time to get to where we felt it was "finished" and then Mia was born! Parenthood, right? As soon as you figure something out, it all changes!

Needing change in the house, I've been looking for bold design statements for every room. The kids are asking to write on their walls as a new decoration, and I feel I need to guide this a little so it's not just a big chalkboard full of scribbles, but something they can be proud of.

When I asked my 3-year-old what she wanted at her party, two things came up: pink and zoo. So, we decided the theme would be pink and I called a local petting zoo to set up in our back yard.

It's that time again — when parents wish their kids would just go outside and play already! When I was a kid, building forts was a major part of my outdoor life. Living on the East Coast with plenty of wooded areas helped. Often, we didn't even need to build anything, and just found an overgrown nook somewhere.

As much as we'd all love to sew an heirloom quilt for our kid, sometimes it's the quickest projects that are the most satisfying - because they actually get done. My niece has entered the crafty phase of her young life, and tissue butterflies, art projects, and drawings are starting to pour in. I needed a quick and easy way to temporarily display her creations.

After years of infertility we were thrilled to finally be expecting our first child. We decided to wait until the birth to find out the gender of our little one so the room had to be gender neutral. We wanted a room that was bright, colorful, and fun. 

Checkers is an underrated game. Am I right? It's relatively easy to learn, can be played with varying levels of strategy, and if you make this carpet version, it's quiet as all get out.

I've often wondered why changing pads for babies were cloth instead of something easier to clean if there's a diaper mishap. Boon has addressed this issue with their ultra modern Fresh changing station with a removable foam pad. Bonus: a toy hook.

Saw this yesterday from the East Side Drive. What? I've done that and couldn't disagree more (but it DID get my attention)... What do you think?
