Meet Flo and Wendell. They're puppies, they're sister and brother and they get along...sometimes. William Wegman's first children's book in a decade adds a painterly twist to his trademark dog photographs and stars two of his own, lovable pups.

This room, which we renovated from an old music studio, is really tiny. It had no closet so we built the shelving and clothing rack and hung up some yellow gingham curtains for closet doors. I'm actually pretty proud of all the re-purposing and recycling I managed in here.
What a pleasure it was to do this bedroom, from the wallpaper to the fabrics and the furniture: fun fun fun! There is nothing predictably child like about this room, you surely won't find Spider-man or Mickey mouse on the wallpaper here. I wanted to create a vibrant space that could grow with him.
Now that my kids are older, we don't have the problem of drooping heads when they fall asleep in the car. But when they were both in car seats, it presented a troublesome obstacle to napping on long car rides. Often, I would wad up a blanket and shove it next to a child's head, only to find that 3 minutes later his head had fallen completely forward and was bouncing around on his chest. What solutions have you come up with for travel-sleeping?
Name: Emerson Location: Renton, WA Room Size: About 8' x 10'
My first introduction to this beautiful nursery was the colorful chevron pouf. Once I saw that, I knew there had to be more fabulousness to come. And I wasn't wrong! Megan Kane designed this nursery for her little girl, Emerson, and the hand crafted details make every inch of this room special.
Wood toys are beautiful, engaging and durable. I have purchased many through Etsy over the years and feel gratified to support woodworkers around the country and world. As Etsy gets bigger and bigger, it can be a challenge to find what you're looking for so I've done the legwork on this one and compiled a list of ten fantastic woodworker's shops for you. Take a look at some of their wonderful creations...
It's certainly not a new idea; in fact, I've seen it dubbed "the 21st Century baby book." But perhaps precisely because it has become so popular to take monthly (or even weekly!) photos of your child, there are lots of inspiring ideas out there. I've rounded up some of my favorites.
Name: Maja Location: Provo, Utah Room Size: 14' x 16' feet
I completely adore every inch of Meta Coleman's amazing home, but when I saw her daughter Maja's room it took my breath away. There are magical details in every nook and cranny of this modern fairytale space. The antique Danish bed is the true showstopper, but really every detail of this little girl's room is a feast for the eyes, from the playful chalkboard wall to the vibrant Marimekko curtains to the lovely woodland toys.
A friend and apartment dweller recently asked us for small play kitchen suggestions for her daughter's Christmas present. We tried talking her into some DIY ideas, but she is more the DI-Buy type. If you're in the same boat, here you go - fifteen small play kitchens (under 31" H) so your kids can play "dorm room" and "flop house" too.
Whether you're knee-deep in snow or somewhere balmy, snow globes bring the magic of winter right into your hands. Making your own is a great holiday project to take on with kids. Here are a few DIY snow globe projects: one without water, one in a light bulb, and one that puts the kids right into the action.
