New York-based The Fancy, a luxury online pinboard, may only have 250,000 users to Pinterest's 10 million, but that hasn't stopped them yet. With backers such as Jack Dorsey of Square & Twitter, endorsements from the likes of Kanye West, and a new e-commerce plugin that allows users to book hotels or purchase items they "fancy" directly from the site, the company is gaining traction.

Shaw's Original Fir...
Love the pictures they have on there so far...but thumbnails are a bit large, too much scrolling. Also, the browse button isn't working for me in Firefox - booooo, I had to go into IE to use the site - maybe just my computer..Oh well, I'll stick with dwellinggawker!! :)
I've just spent two hours on The Fancy and love it! Is it bad that I pinned things I saw on there to my Pinterest?? I did sign up for a Fancy account though because I like the idea of "luxury" items and places, etc... it's much less "Suburban Mom" and much more "Conde Nast Traveler." The challenge will be for the creators of The Fancy to keep it that way. I used it in Firefox without any troubles.
Also, as a side note, what makes this great is that you can make your catalog Private, an option I desperately wish was available on Pinterest.
