This month we have been focusing on bathrooms, what we like, what we don't and what is new in the world of bathroom decor and design. In the process we have also shared items that would make the bathroom of our dreams. In my view, having a bathroom as near to resembling a spa as possible would be my ideal design. That is why this unique shower space is my selection my most extravagant bathroom fantasy.

The Dornbracht site explains:
For the first time, Horizontal Shower permits showering using the Ambiance Tuning Technique while reclining. The application combines six Water Bars recessed into a broad shower field above a reclining space, along with an eTool as the main operating element. Just as with Vertical Shower, with Horizontal Shower the user can also choose from among a variety of pre-programmed choreographies, offering a range of settings for water temperature, intensity and quantity. The user can decide from among Balancing, Energizing or De-Stressing effects.

Seems a bit impractical...
Funny. My dream shower is one big enough, with enough hot water and steam, that I never touch cold tile/surface of the shower...
Looks like it's for washing corpses.
That doesn't seem comfortable or practical. What would you do, use soap and then lie down for a rinse? It's kind of like a car wash.
But then you are lying in a thin puddle of dirty water. Gyik. (says me). Looks pretty in a floaty-sci-fi way at any rate.

Ahh, anything looks marketable when you picture a pretty model in it. But try sticking Mr and Mrs Average in it, or a toddler, or grandma, and see how plausible the concept really is. Maybe it should come with a disclaimer "pretty, fit things only, no back problems permitted".
:)
I've been wanting a "shower bed" for years! This would be perfect. But I agree with Foog Foog - I don't know how clean you'd really get. If I could afford this, I have a vertical shower installed, too, for actual showering.
This would need to come with a cleaning service b/c I wouldn't want to lay on this after a couple days of use.
Seems silly to me. I can understand how relaxing it would be to lay there and have a water massage but there are downfalls. First, you would have to let the water run a while just to warm your platform up or freeze from cold tile shock. LOL Second - I think it would result in me being MORE stressed because I would have to clean it after every use - and dry it too so the water wouldn't settle and muck-up. It's not in my dream bath!
Two words: Shower naps!
@ mstesla THAT was the first thing I thought of when I saw it; a sort of a new-agey futuristic version of the prep room at a funeral parlor. Uggg!
Oh, that would feel amazing... (And I hope I'm not the only weirdo who's ever laid down in the shower and just kinda gotten lost in the sensations there.)
I love laying down in the shower.
I'm sure it'll show up in quite a few porn films but why do I look at it and have visions of water going up my nose?
Ew?
My first thought wasn't a funeral home, it was a car wash. My second thought? OMG, how could you wash yourself well without getting your head wet? I don't wash my hair every time I shower.
I love a Vichy Shower at a spa...but seems nuts for the home. And the water wasted in the effort?? I think I'd rather have a huge standing shower with room for a teak chair or a water resistant hammock...I mean if you are going for the fantasy shower lounge...
It seems that if you could adjust the positioning of the shower jets a bit as well as the, uh, degrees of pressure, this could be an extremely satisfying experience ;)
Whatever happened to being environmentally conscious? A standard low-flow shower head and a five minute shower. That's enough. Sheesh!
Let's see: Wasting at least half the water you use, then slipping and sliding across a cold, slick surface toward the standing towel rack (because it would be a shame to install normal racks on those pricey stone walls) in a room so large that it is always going to feel freezing after a shower -- unless you waste not only water but heat by preheating the entire giant room. Sharp, hard edges everywhere you look, and a special pit to tumble into. Yes, sounds like a dream.
I do like the idea of that wall with all the pinpoints of light, though it's evidently not lit by the sun, since the light is coming from more than one direction. Therefore, there must be even more cubic feet of space to needlessly heat, where the light bulbs are concealed behind the screen. Of course, this whole room is an absurd unreal fantasy, but why are we being prodded to accept wastefulness and discomfort as elements of our fantasies?
I don't care about the shower, I like the window treatment.
Nope. sorry.
I think it would be very cool in addition to a regular shower. Maybe take your normal shower, then go lie down in the horizontal shower for a massage. :)
I'll pass.
I'd take those cool wall tiles over that shower.
Ha ha ha! That's totally ridiculous! Have you ever laid down on hard marble? Not relaxing.
Even with warm water trickling over it, on a cold winter's day you could not get me to take a shower in that.
Wake up all "pruney".
This looks really awesome. You have shared such great post.I love this.
