We have noticed a trend towards a modern farmhouse style that maintains uncluttered, clean lines while incorporating rustic finishes, hand-made touches, and well-worn fabrics. Perhaps colder temperatures and starker contemporary design have us craving a cozier style, but these rooms are looking very nap worthy indeed.
1-White washed walls, exposed beams and wide plank floors make for a rustic retreat. The ladder back chair has been converted into an upholstered wingback for a homemade novelty.
2- A loosely woven basket is used in place of headboard and a chair acts as a nightstand. The burlap bed skirt and pillows are unrefined and chic at the same time.
3- The patina of the beadboard ceiling and plaster wall set off the unfussy white bedding and imperfect bed. Local Texas wildflowers are pressed and mounted above the bed.
4- Toula’s Boutique of Athens featured this more colorful combination mismatched linens and side tables with a weathered iron bed. A unique idea to borrow is the branch as a canopy that be strung with tiny lights, paper stars, or origami birds.
5- This bedroom is classic Americana with white, blue and red ticking linens. The cream wood furniture works against the bright white paneled walls for a varied but still monochromatic backdrop.
The country farmhouse style is very American but combines elements of English and French country style. Hallmarks of farmhouse décor include wood floors, antiqued metals, natural fabrics, distressed furniture and regional elements. The whole point is to be unfussy, unpretentious and completely cozy. Get going on your farmhouse bedroom with these items: recycled pickle barrel bed from Sundance, natural ticking stripe sheets from Garnet Hill, Bethany iron bed from Sundance, Wilton lumbar pillow from Pottery Barn.

very nice post. I especially like the metal beds; although I think I'll be sticking to finding mine at a yardsale or auction at half the price.
Country really isn't my style - but these rooms are quite nice and manage to avoid crossing over into the Granny-Cutesy B&B Country that so many of us loathe...
I'm particularly intrigued by that Ladderback/Wingback chair - So inventive!
I'd be happy in any of these rooms. (Although distressed-iron bed frames freak me out.)
The green one is my favorite. I love those branches, you'd feel like you were sleeping in a tree! I could never pull that off though. The second and last ones are the most realistically doable.
I love the green one also. The branches are awesome.
What lovely rooms! I especially like the red in #5.
I like them all.
cozy :)
