Farmhouse Kitchens

Everyone says that the kitchen is the heart of the home, and that seems especially true in farmhouses, where laid-back style intersects with plenty of open space and simple, warm materials...

Living in the city, we can only dream of the space a farmhouse kitchen affords, but there are a few details that can translate into any home, no matter how small. Wood is the defining material of a farmhouse kitchen, complemented by metal drawer pulls, ceramic sinks, and the occasional industrial-style light fixture. Kitchen arrangements are utilitarian and easily accessible, from open shelving to wall-mounted pot racks. And don't forget the super-cheap but charming touch of a Mason jar filled with preserves or flowers.
