Some furniture combinations can be pure magic. One such combination is a farmhouse dining room table paired with modern chairs. Whether made of shiny plastic, ultra-urban white leather or industrial metal, modern and contemporary chairs are a stylish and practical complement to rustic wood tables. Farmhouse tables are easy to maintain and clean lined, as are most modern chairs. Perfect for anyone who wants to dine without worry.

I like farmhouse tables with benches on either side and whicker chairs on both ends. Wish I had the room.
I would love to know the source for the chairs in #10. The white leather with the graceful swooping metal frame is amazing! I'm sure they're out of my price range...but I'd like to know for sure! Help?
Oh my God, you guys read my mind. We just moved into a loft and are in need of a dining room table -- I was thinking rustic farm table but having trouble finding one under $2K. No joke. Any sources for a cheap, authentic old farm table?
Swoon. I love this look - always have. I like all of the photos but 1 and 8 are just perfect for me.
archdarling - try craigslist, or your local rural antiques store. if you were in toronto i'd be able to help more...
they are also pretty easy to make if you're feeling ambitious.
It seems that with the right materials, just about any combination can be pulled off! Love the look of mixing modern and rustic/natural.
I love this look. Trick is finding the tables :)
I really like #1 and #2.
I would have never put clear/ghost chairs with an old table, but it looks fabulous together.
i love the look of modern sleek white design combined with old dark wood as I grew up with this design in my parents' house. Theirs is biedermeier furniture combined with modern white. We are a large family and frequently had guests, so we had a around 6.7 ft diameter mahogany table with white panton chairs.
This is a great way to incorporate family pieces in a modern/ecclectic home.
This is SUCH perfect timing! I just bought a set of gorgeous Danish teak midcentury dining chairs (found them by the craziest luck at an antique store) and wanted to find a beat up, chunky wooden table to pair them with. This is great!
I love our old, rustic pine "work table" - it shows years of use (and some abuse) and I never have to worry about what the kids might do to it. Right now we have a bench on one side and some industrial stools on the other. We used to have a set of Eames side shells with it and while they looked fantastic, they didn't take abuse from five kiddos quite as nicely, so we sold them. The stools, I mean.
I think I like it the other way around better, modern table, farmy chairs.
@ArchDarling - I'd like to preach some Ana White to you. You can make a farm house table and put your own time and wear into it! I bet it's tons cheaper.
This makes me miss the wonderful 100 year old hand-carved farm table (with pull-out leaves) that we found at Goodwill 10 years ago for $40. It was too big for our then house, so we sold it at consignment for $400. Later learned it was worth $4000. :( Now our big farmhouse kitchen is dying for a table and we can't find one.
FYI - #5 is a mid-century modern table - not farmhouse.
All beautiful, but I love 1, 2 and 9.
I love the chandelier on pic# 1, can anyone tell me where i can find it pleazzzzze : )
