For the modernist birds in your neighborhood: Modern Birdhouses' Case Study Master Series.

Designed by an architect, Dail Dixon, and inspired by the Case Study Houses Program, the birdhouses have simple lines and modern details.

The three birdhouses are named after Case Study participants J.R. Davidson, Richard Neutra, and Ralph Rapson (the Ralph is shown here). They're also very well thought-out: The sustainably harvested teak is finished with an oil that protects against water, mildew, and UV rays. The roofs are made of sandblasted aluminum plate, stainless steel fasteners prevent rust and corrosion, and the floors are removable for cleaning.

$195 at ModernBirdhouse.com. Also available at The Gardener, Design Public, Canoe, and Velocity.
