Yay!
Yea! Thanks so much, everyone! Thank you Ohdeedoh. Thank you Etsy. Thank you voters. I'm glad folks liked the project.
Now how should I spend the money? Should I be totally practical and get fabric? Should I buy a piece of art? Should I search Ohdeedoh for "etsy" and go crazy getting fun things for my daughters? I'm taking suggestions!
Well, if I won I was going to use some of the prize to fund a few giveaways on my blog (hint hint!!). Congratulations, your project is super. In fact, I am going to be building two to go on the wall inside each of my kids' bed cave curtains!
I think this is such a great choice for it's practicality, usability, style, and the fact that it's so easy to make!
Laura, that's a great, great idea. I wish I had thought of it. Kind of like I wish I'd thought to buy a coffee for the stranger behind me at the drive-thru when the stranger in front of me bought mine. (I eventually reciprocated--once I came to my senses.)
Please send me a photo if you end up making them (www.pennycarnival.typepad.com).
I loved your projects, too. We have a chalkboard wall in our kitchen that gets lots of use--by the kids and me.

Thanks to Laura's great suggestion, I've decided to host a giveaway on my blog. Rather than giving away something from Etsy, though, I'm going to make a custom hanging book display like the one from the contest. The winner will be able to choose her own fabric (within reason).
