Clearly everyone will have different preferences and reactions. That said, I don't know anyone who could feel gloomy looking at that beach photograph (see how good the giant version from the same series looks in a real home.)
When you do identify art that creates that positive feeling, do yourself a favor and position it where you'll see it often. I have the second print shown, by Kate Pugsley, hanging just inside my entryway to greet me every day (and remind me to take it easy).

I'm a big fan of saltandpaper.com's printable art - here's a good one:
Please Do Not Feed Or Tease the Monkeys
- and this printable 8x10 robot is cute:

To each their own..
I find that amazing nature & landscape photos uplift me. They remind of all beautiful things God created in this world...despite everything. (But then again Im one of those people who will stop dead in her tracks and watch the moon when the sky is putting on a show, or go to the roof and just stare at the stars)
Thanks for you comment Leitho. Reminded me that their natural beauty all around us. Sometimes you gotta slow down, so you don't miss it.
so perfect for a friday! I also get a real kick out of: Jeff Koons Goes to the Bank over on www.artstar.com

I have a print by Murillo called Two Women at a Window (http://www.artchive.com/artchive/m/murillo/women_at_window.jpg). It is beautifully framed...and it hangs in my bathroom.
Sometimes guests notice the "voyeurs" and sometimes not, but it always makes me smile.
I just bought a Matte Stephens print (Owl and Pigeon Party) a few weeks ago! It's a fabulous piece and makes me smile every time I look at it. Reminds me, I need to leave him feedback on Etsy.
I have the piglet, along with three other Sharon Montrose prints, hung in my living room. They never fail to make me smile.
This is a great collection! Reminded me that I've been meaning to buy a piece from Debbie Carlos.
damn = guess i took 2 minutes to long to buy the beach print.
I adore Matte Stephens - his work is currently making up most of my birthday wish list. And I also love Sharon Montrose's series - they are just delightful! Such a cheery post!
On of my favorite things about Matte Stephens is his titles for his artwork. They are verbose and AWESOME!
I'm a huge fan of the new store GreenPaperHouse

I know this post is from last year but couldn't help posting a comment, since I rather strongly identify with lighthearted art myself. :)
